This week, domestic sunflower prices remained stable. A portion of edible sunflower kernels entered the oil pressing market, and the price was low, the profit from pressing was good, and the goods were sold quickly. In terms of demand, the market is currently in the off-season for the industry, the terminal market is not selling fast, and the amount of sunflower pressed has decreased, so the demand for sunflowers is weak, and it is generally just a matter of replenishment. However, in terms of supply, due to my country's reliance on imports of sunflowers, the international supply of sunflower raw materials is severe, and factors such as tariff policies have led to low port arrivals, supporting the sunflower market.

It is expected that the price of sunflowers will run smoothly in the short term. At present, the supply and demand of sunflowers have not changed much, the supply of sunflower raw materials is tight, and traders are afraid of increasing risks and dare not stock up more. In addition, due to the impact of the off-season, the demand for sunflowers is weak. Therefore, the price of sunflowers may continue to run smoothly. In the later period, more attention should be paid to international trade tariff policies and the substitutability of oilseeds.

02 Sunflower oil

Week 16 (April 14-April 18, 2025) The average price of domestic sunflower oil this week is 10,814 yuan/ton, of which the price of first-grade sunflower oil in Jiangsu is 11,000 yuan/ton; the price of first-grade sunflower oil in Xinjiang is 10,250 yuan/ton; the price of first-grade sunflower oil in Tianjin is 11,000 yuan/ton; the price of first-grade sunflower oil in Shanghai is 11,000 yuan/ton. This week, domestic sunflower oil prices remained stable in most regions, and Shanghai rose by 100 yuan/ton compared with last week. It is currently the off-season for sunflower oil consumption, and the profit of sunflower kernel pressing is good. The operating rate of oil mills has increased, and the supply of sunflower oil has increased, which is bearish for the sunflower oil market. In terms of overall supply, due to poor import profits, the amount of sunflower oil arriving at the port has gradually decreased, and the supply of sunflower oil has continued to be tight. Dealers are reluctant to sell, which supports the price of sunflower oil. In terms of demand, due to the high price and low profit range, most dealers are waiting and watching. There are many inquiries in the market, but not many actual transactions, and demand is weak. The Russian FOB sunflower oil price, and the ruble is still appreciating, the import cost is increasing, which supports the sunflower oil market. It is expected that the price of sunflower oil may fluctuate steadily in the short term. The supply of sunflower oil at home and abroad is tight, and the import cost is strong, but the weak demand suppresses the price of sunflower oil.
