Weekly Review:

This week, the price of flaxseed fluctuated within a narrow range. On the supply side, due to the large volume of arrivals at ports recently, the supply of flaxseed is sufficient, which is bearish for the flaxseed market. On the demand side, due to the slow speed of terminal sales due to the downstream replenishment on demand, the demand for flaxseed is weak. The international price of flaxseed is on the rise, and the appreciation of the ruble supports the price of flaxseed. CNF in the southern Black Sea region of Russia quoted flaxseed at US$610/ton, and the price performance was stable. The shipping date is May-June. The price of Canadian flaxseed is US$660-670/ton, and the price of Kazakhstan flaxseed in Alashankou is US$610-620/ton. In the short term, the international flaxseed market has limited cargo volume, which is good for the international flaxseed market, and the possibility of a drop in flaxseed prices is not high. In the long run, the price of flaxseed at Chinese ports is still bullish.

02 Flax oil

Week 16 (April 14-April 18, 2025) This week, the domestic first-grade linseed oil prices are as follows: 11,000 yuan/ton in Ulanqab; 11,200-11,300 yuan/ton in Lanzhou; 11,500 yuan/ton in Wuzhong, 11,500 yuan/ton in Yinchuan, 11,600 yuan/ton in Hohhot; 11,300 yuan/ton in Zhangjiakou; 11,000 yuan/ton in Xingtai; 11,600 yuan/ton in Tianjin Binhai, 11,600-12,000 yuan/ton in Suzhou, and 11,600-12,000 yuan/ton in Nantong.

The prices of bulk linseed oil are as follows: 10,200-10,300 yuan/ton in Ulanqab; 11,000 yuan/ton in Hohhot; 10,300 yuan/ton in Zhangjiakou; 11,000 yuan/ton in Xingtai; 9,700-11,000 yuan/ton in Tianjin Binhai;

This week, the overall price of flaxseed cake remained stable. Domestic soybean meal and rapeseed meal prices stopped rising and fell, which was bearish for the flaxseed cake market. The operating rate of flaxseed oil plants increased, and the supply was generally sufficient, which suppressed the flaxseed cake market. As the temperature rises in the later period, the proportion of flaxseed cake as a high-calorie feed raw material in the feed ratio will decrease, and the demand will be poor. It is expected that the price of flaxseed cake will be stable and fluctuating in the short term.
